We collect personal information to the extent necessary in the following situations.

We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes.

1. Responding to enquiries and requests for estimates
2. Carrying out appraisals and buyback transactions, and making payment (including bank transfers for corporate customers)
3. Shipping purchased goods such as used tires and wheels, and communicating about delivery
4. Performing the checks and creating and retaining the records required by the Secondhand Dealer Business Act and other laws
5. Contacting you in connection with transactions
6. Responding to consultations and complaints
7. Preventing fraudulent transactions and the circulation of stolen goods, and maintaining safety at our offices and yard
8. Improving the quality of our services and our operations
9. Complying with legal obligations and responding to enquiries from public authorities

If we need to use personal information beyond these purposes, we obtain the individual’s consent in advance.

As a licensed secondhand goods dealer under the Secondhand Dealer Business Act of Japan, we are legally required to verify the identity of our customers and to create and retain records of each buyback transaction.

1. For each transaction we ask you to present a driver’s licence, residence card or passport. This is a legal requirement, and we may be unable to proceed with the transaction if no document is presented.
2. We make a copy of the identification document and keep it at our office.
3. The details we verify and the transaction details are recorded in our ledger as required by the Act and retained for three years from the date of the last entry.
4. If we suspect that goods may be stolen, we may report the necessary information to the police as required by law. In such cases the information may be provided without the individual’s consent.

Security cameras are installed at our head-office yard. The footage is used to prevent theft and accidents and to keep transactions safe, and it is automatically overwritten after approximately 30 days.

We do not provide footage to third parties except where required by law or in response to a lawful request from the police or other public authority.

We do not provide personal information to third parties without the individual’s consent, except in the following cases.

1. Where required by law
2. Where necessary to protect a person’s life, body or property and it is difficult to obtain consent
3. Where we report to the police under the Secondhand Dealer Business Act
4. Where we need to cooperate with a national or local government body, or a party commissioned by one, in carrying out statutory duties

We may outsource work or use external services to the extent necessary to run our business. In such cases we exercise necessary and appropriate supervision over the provider.

We use the following external services to operate this website.

Each provider handles personal information in accordance with its own privacy policy.

As set out in Article 6, the providers of the external services we use are all located outside Japan (in the United States). Your personal information may therefore be handled overseas in connection with those services.

We use these services having confirmed that the providers take appropriate measures to protect personal information. Information on the data protection regimes of individual countries is published by Japan’s Personal Information Protection Commission.

We take the following measures to prevent unauthorised access to, and the loss, destruction, alteration or leakage of, personal information.

1. We designate a person responsible for personal information together with the staff who handle it, and limit access to employees who need it for their work.
2. Copies of identification documents and our ledgers are kept at our office and are not taken off site by anyone other than the designated staff.
3. Electronic data is protected by access restrictions and password management.
4. Communications with this website are encrypted using HTTPS.

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes of use. The main retention periods are as follows.

1. Ledger records and copies of identification documents under the Secondhand Dealer Business Act: three years from the date of the last entry
2. Security camera footage: approximately 30 days, after which it is automatically overwritten
3. Enquiry content: for the period necessary after the enquiry has been resolved
4. Usage data collected by Google Analytics: the retention period set by Google (see Article 11)

Once the retention period has passed, we promptly dispose of or delete the personal information by appropriate means.

This website may use cookies to improve convenience and to operate the site securely. Cookies do not contain information that directly identifies you.

Please note that where records must be retained under the Secondhand Dealer Business Act or other laws, we may be unable to delete them during the statutory retention period.

We may amend this policy in response to changes in law or in our business. Any amended version takes effect when it is published on this page.
